if I use the Optical output (to my active speakers Dynaudio Xeo6 via the "connect" hub) does it bypass the internal DAC of the RS201? Same question with USB output. I would have thought so.
Then if I don't want to bypass the internal DAC and send to my active speakers, what port can I use to the "connect" hub ? There is no line output.
I want to really hear the quality of the DAC in the RS201. I tried external DACs (Astell&Kern SR25 and even Fiio Q1 Mark II) and it sounded better, but before that was I really hearing the internal DAC while outputing through optical? Or only the DSP of my active speakers...?
For RS201-
When you use optical output, the signal is output through the built-in DAC of RS201.
When you're using USB output, it bypass the built-in DAC of RS201.
I thought the optical and coax output were digital therefore bypassing the built in dac. The XLR and RCA outputs are analogue therefore go through this DAC. Is this true?
I have the RS 150b and I'm assuming it's the same. The signal Goes through the internal DAC and out the optical and coax outputs. To bypass the DAC the output is USB 3.0.
If this is true why in the manual does the optical and coax out arrows go to an external DAC. Very confusing.
I buying a Lampizator Baltic 4 DAC. I have the Rose RS150 and want to use it as a streamer and use the Lampizator as the DAC. How do I bypass the DAC in the Rose RS150? Thank you
