RS201 can be connected to external DAC using USB port and Optical output.
Volume control is possible when an external DAC is connected using the optical output, but volume control is not supported when an external DAC is connected via USB.
If an external DAC is connected using the optical output, the output is made after going through the built-in DAC. However, you cannot control the volume when an external DAC is connected via USB. However, you can use it by setting output gain in I / O setting.
